My visit to the doctors office kinda threw me for a loop and it's taken me 24 hours to wrap my brain around all if it.
All is well.....except the doctor said the cancer word and after that I think I stopped processing .....or maybe it was just me on pain pills.
The long story short is the thyroid diagnosis is papillary microcarcinoma.
The doctor said that the cancer was removed and that there's a very small chance it would return. Because of the small risk he said we would check it with an ultrasound in 6 months.
I'm thrilled I don't have to re do the surgery right now but a little fearful of the future.
I'm lucky my stepmother works for an ENT in Tennessee and I sent them my pathology report and I was advised the very same thing.
Not that I doubt my doctor but we've been taught to fear the word cancer and then I hear "let's watch it". I just wanted to be safe rather than sorry....plus we all remember how many doctors told us Chase had tendinitis and all along it was a tumor.
So I drove the first time today (to get the pathology report) and I checked emails for a few hours. It totally exhausted me ...... I just woke up from a two hour power nap. I say power nap because I was seriously sleeping!!!!
Signing off for now .....

Angie,
I am so glad that you have better news, I know it is not perfect, but I will not stop praying for you throughout thess next few months and I know things are fine. My Mother had this same thing and she was in a panic over it for the 6 months until they did the Cat scan ( they didn't do ultrasounds then) and (My mom is the queen of worriers.) She made herself miserable worrying and in the end it was nothing. When she told the doctor how stressed out she had made herself he was surprised. He said "if I was at all concerned I wouldn't have waited 6 months to check it again, I thought you understood that" I'm sure your doctor is the same.
Angie, I'm so glad to hear that you are starting to get back to some of your normal everyday tasks like driving and checking emails. It sounds like you are slowly on the mend. I'm also glad to hear that the cancer was removed. I will continue to uplift you in prayers for your comfort and strength. Please take it easy and take care!
God bless!
Lori
Angie I am glad you have an answer even though it is still worrisome.I know God can work wonders. I will lift your name up in prayer in the following months. I know you have a positive attitude and that is great to have to overcome the worry of the comming months. Just remember not to do too much and rest some.I am glad that you and Chase are on the mend. I am still lifting his name up as well. May God give you comfort and peace!

Continuing to pray for you, Angie!
Angie, I will also keep you in my prayers. Continue to mend and keep good thoughts. God will take great care of you. Love all the hard work you do. Always look forward to your posts!

You are in my thoughts...
Angie - that sounds like good news to me. As Cathy said - they wouldn't leave you 6 months unless they were really sure. You must give yourself time to recover from your op - we know you are a workaholic! Love yourself as much as you are loved. :) XXX
Continuing to pray for you, sweetie!
Yes, the C word is scary....but there is another C word that I hang on to...CURE! We live in a day of great progress and thru my cancer I have realized how far the treatments have come! So much can be done today! I'm so glad they got it all out. Be pro-active and learn as much as you can about it and don't hesitate to ask them any questons! You are going to be fine...but, like you said, that C word is scary! I'll continue to lift you up in prayer, Angie, for continued good health! :=)
Angie I love what Cindy wrote about "C"ure. I can only imagine the shock and fear you have over all this but I sure hope you can dig down deep and find the faith that the Lord will get you thru this. You are so loved by so many stamp-crazed women! We are all pulling for you with prayers and good thoughts. Take good care of yourself. Just take it easy and take one day at a time. Once when I was going thru some health challenges, a friend suggested I start a gratitude journal. Each day find something to be grateful for and write it down. You can find alot of strength in doing that my dear. Love to you Angie!
I agree with the other posts. Look at your results as a beginning to getting healthy. The tumor is gone and you are on the mend. Hopefully, your strength will return very soon and you will be back doing the things you love.
Just keep the faith, HE will take very good care of you! Hugs and prayers.
Hi Angie
I am on year 7 of "a very small chance it will return" and all of my checkups have been clear (just had one last week). Keep positive but allow yourself a pity party once in a while. I just know you will be OK!
Hugs
Irene
Angie,
Take time for yourself both mentally and physically. I know a cancer diagnosis is scarey but thank God this type is 96% curable.
I am on year 6 of a Stage III Lymphoma diagnosis. The 6 month intervals between tests gets easier.
Keeping you in my prayers,
Julie
