I guess I can't blame her....she is my child. But seriously....she is very photogenic and I'm not (I'm too animated and I'm always making faces....trust me!!)
When she was little....her face would light up when I took her picture!! It's like she loved it ...but now..... she prefers to be behind the camera. Oh well....I'm hoping it's a teenage phase...she is just 16 :)
So, the real picture of the day is her redneck glasses (no offense towards rednecks...we probably are rednecks :)
Back in November she broke her glasses and we tried to get them fixed...but they're not fixable....so they super glued them for her. That didn't hold long....and because of insurance we had to wait until today to order a new pair (but you know she needed an exam first).
For the past month ...she's gone everywhere with taped glasses....she even got her drivers license with them. We went to open her a checking account the other day and when we came out I said to her .... "did you know you had your taped glasses on?"
I think it's a hoot! But I'm sure tomorrow walking through the school she's not going to think it's very funny. Oh well, not everything can be perfect and it's better she learn that now verses later.
So, now I have a very funny story to share with you (or you might think we've lost our marbles and it's not funny at all).
When I mentioned redneck glasses it made me remember way back about 11 or 12 years ago. We used to go camping all the time and I could probably fill a book with all our camping stories but this redneck story is the one you get today.
You might be a redneck if you take a boat with a dead motor on a camping trip.
That would be us!!! We had a lot of camping equipment .... you know bikes, tents, sleeping stuff, cooking equipment, floats...etc. But our motor wasn't working...so we took that boat on the trip....just to cart all our stuff in it :) I'll never forgot it!!
Thinking back now it's like "what were we thinking?" ..... I think when your kids are young....you're on autopilot so much of the time that you don't always think everything through.
Saying all this makes me think of a few more stories....all those camping trips were soooo much work but also soooo much fun! It's like we packed for a week to go and then unpacked it ....repacked it and unpacked it again. I'm way too old for that now and happy that we graduated to a lake house. My last camping trip was at Melvern Lake in Kansas somewhere and I'll have to share that story with you soon. It was sooooo awful that I never went camping again :O
See ya tomorrow!
p.s. I took Brooke for her eye glasses/contacts appt today, then off to the mall we went...then to Office Depot, Office Max, Hallmark, Hobby Lobby and Walmart (then picked up Wendys for super). I'm soooo tired!!! I can't take that many hours of shopping ....I think I need a multi vitamin or something!! We were trying to wrap up her shopping for CAPS .... click here if you'd like to see what CAPS is.
