Headache story

I have a million other things I could talk about today but ......I thought we could  all use a good chuckle :)

I woke up in terrible pain today....my head, neck, face.  Let's just say from the neck up!!
I tried working...I tried sleeping...I took a hot bath (twice) and one shower...nothing helped the pain.   Around mid afternoon Dave came in the kitchen and I was at my wits end....I was seriously on the verge of going to the ER.   The funny part to this story is not about the headache...but everything I did to get rid of it.

After I went to the doctor and came home (feeling somewhat better but not totally)....Dave came up to me and said "you scared me....you stood on one leg, you ate chocolate, you drank a sprite, you drank a cup of coffee...etc......all to get rid of a headache".
His point was....to him I was doing all sorts of weird things...to get rid of a headache.  He thought I'd lost my marbles....a simple way to get rid of a headache is to take medicine.   All I could say to him is...clearly you've never experienced a headache like mine!!  To hear him say it would have made you laugh...he's much funnier than I am..... with that dry sense of humor  (I wonder...do all Dave's have a dry sense of humor...you know like Dave Letterman?).

That reminds me another story....about his humor.  One day we were driving past our neighbor ......as he was carting off some dirt.   And Dave leaned out the window and said "it's about time you moved that dirt".  And I instantly slugged him and said  "you can't say that, he'll think you mean it".  He replied back "no, he knows I'm joking".  But did he?
I guess it's no secret I over think things...but still I wonder :)  By the way he was joking...that dirt had only been there a day or two.

Gotta go .....I have a million emails to check and need to babysit myself to make sure I don't get the awful headache back!!

I'm ready

I've been secretly working on some things and I'm finally ready to share.
I've started the process of trademarking my name.   I was already in the process ...but when my good friend told me how her computer crashed and when she went to find me ....... and there are several people using my name.

So, instead of dealing with it myself....I'll just turn it over to the lawyers.  I have gone through a whole range of emotions.  For some blogging is an emotional outlet but for some of us it pays the bills.  I've said it many times...since I did not go to college .....being able to contribute to my childrens college fund is a dream come true!!

And if there's any money left over I'm going too.  I know by then I'll be in my 50's but I say it's never to late to start anything.  The day I bought my first Mac is the perfect example.  I told the guy I'm too old to change systems...I had always used a PC....and he said in your line of work....you need a Mac and then he proceeded to tell me how easy it was.  So...I took a chance it was one of the best decisions I've ever made!!!  Honestly!!! I could go on for hours but I won't do that to you.   But can I just say the minutes I used to sit and wait for those darn computers to boot up.....it's a thing of the past. I love my mac.

I know ....this has turned into a short story...or a long story.  You know this blog has kinda turned into my journal.   I love to write....hence the reason I have five thousand websites....just kidding.  I only have about 30.  I was just thinking the other day....when I'm dead....morbid I know.....my sites will carry on.  Probably longer than we want them too :)

Okay....for the next thing (had to list trademarking my name first ...it's just so awesome).

I've started an official forum ....and I jumped in with two feet...without knowing what I was doing.
So, I've been going in circles.....can you picture that?
Anywho.....I finally made a decision that I'm going to start it out as a Team Forum.  And later ....after we've added content I will decide who to open it up to.  I want my dear customers to be next....but then I also have my demo friends ....and that brings up how can I afford it if I open it to everyone.  The bandwidth thing is still over my head.
So, why did I do it?   I should follow my own advice.  I tell my downline when you plan something...have a goal in sight.  That way you know what steps to take.  For example if you're doing a craft fair.  What is your goal?  Do you want to sell product or do you want to plant seeds and get leads?  By knowing your goal...it allows you to work smarter.

But I didn't do that....with the forum.  What is my goal?  Until I figure it out.... my team and I will use it and I'm excited...really ....I am!  I'm just scared of the money thing....we've all heard horror stories of people going over their bandwidth and their bills being thousands of dollars.   See...that's what's holding me back!!

Gotta run....didn't work yesterday and now I'm two days behind (because I work from 7am to almost midnight...isn't that like two days of work?).

See ya!

Live it up

Look what was I got in the mail box today :)
Okay I'll admit I got it on itunes as well but how could I resist having the case and keeping it in my car (check out the picture of him on the inside.....WOW).

Ever since Lee Dewyze won American Idol I've counted the days for his album release ...... kinda like waiting for the Twilight movie release.

I've only had it a few hours....right now my favorite is A Song About Love. Check it out.....on itunes or his website http://www.leedewyzeofficial.com/.  I also really like Beautiful Like You ....and how can you resist Sweet Serendipity?

I had stamp club today but had to stay up til midnight last night so I could be one of the first ones to see his music video go live....pretty awesome!!!

One more ...and then I gotta get back to work....so last night I was checking out his website....they made some major improvements and I love it.....so I noticed his cute little favicon and I was wracking my brain trying to figure it out.  I could see the tree of life (I love that symbol) but it had something over it.  So I googled and googled trying to figure out what his logo was....

Well it came to me after I had the CD in my hands.... his logo is his intials LD .... so if you go to his website and right by his name you'll see at the end of it the symbol :)   LD with a tree behind it.  I love it!!
Am I weird ....or am I slow?  just remember I always say it's the little things :)

See ya!

Christmas Bells Cookies

Holiday Baking is right around the corner...so I thought I would post the cookies I made every year.  Sometimes.... this is the only cookie I make and then other years it's just one of many.

One of the reasons it's my favorite is ....it's not too sweet...in other words you can eat a whole dozen of them and not get sick :O   They're almost like a soft sugar cookie (less sweet) with a yummy maraschino cherry in the center.

Here it goes...but before I post it I should give credit.  This recipe is an slightly edited version of the Christmas Bells Cookie recipe found in a Christmas Southern Living Cookbook .....many years ago. (one of my favorite books.....I buy every year).

Ingredients are:
2/3 cp unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cp sugar
1 lg egg
1 tsp orange peel
1 tsp vanilla
2 cps all purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
30 maraschino cherries, halved

Beat butter in large mixing bowl until creamy.  Add sugar and beat well.  Add orange peel, egg & vanilla, beating until well blended.  Combine flour and baking powder in a separate bowl and gradually add it to the butter mixture, beat until well blended.
Cover and chill for 30 minutes (not much longer than that or it will harden and you will have a hard time rolling it out).
Shape dough into 2 rolls. Wrap rolls in Saran wrap and chill for 8 hours.  Cut into 1/4" slices and place on un-greased cookie sheet.  Place one cherry on top of each cookie and Bake at 350% for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 5 dozen cookies :)

See ya!

P.s.

I should remember ....... Do not post on blog with a splitting headache.
I posted my Christmas Journal today and totally forgot to add the title.....wonder what else I did wrong?

Not again :)

I'm starting to sound like a broken record!!
Yesterday I woke up and felt soooooo much better. It was the first day in over a week that I felt normal.
And then.....in the middle of the night.....neck starting hurting and my head. And the headache is a real show stopper.
So....I'm in bed trying to figure out what to do.....call the doctor or give it one more day.
Is it possible my headache is a result of the rain heading our way? Don't ask....the rain has always affected me.

Gotta run.....even the pecking sound from my iPad makes my head hurt (and normally I like the sound).

Busier than a bee

I'm not sure my brain has ever worked as hard as it has lately!!

But ....before I go into that....let me just say....

I HATE BEING SICK!!
It's such a waste of time!!  I just want to act like a three year old and fall to the floor kicking and screaming.   This is not the time for me to be sick.
But then again....when is a good time?

Now that I've gotten that off my chest :)

I have a few exciting things to share....I start with the craziest!

My latest ipad app that I love is Talking Tom (although I think I'm changing his name to Porkchop).  I had a cat when I was 15 and his name was Porkchop and I swear Talking Tom reminds me of him.

Anywho.....everything you say....Talking Tom repeats...but in a silly voice.  And you can scratch him and he purrs or pulling his tail .... you know...he's not so happy.  I woke Brooke up this morning with Talking Tom repeating what I was saying....like "I love Brookie" and when he copies your laugh....well....it's a hoot!

Now for the business stuff.  My Chic n Scratch  Classroom has started and other than the decor I believe it's ready.  It took me so many hours it's just scary!!  But people have joined....they are excited....me too..... and my first private video is loaded and ready to view after the (15th).  I'm so happy to almost have the setup complete...and once we get through a couple months I think the hard part will be over.

My next adventure is reminding me of the days when I started my Chic n Scratch blog.  I used to stay up half the night trying to figure out how to set it up.  The words typelists and all that were so foreign!  I would ask for help but no one would help me.  I cried a lot!!  I bet I ask at least 25 people how to take pictures for my blog and how to make them look good.  That's why when I figured it out I posted a video on my site.....I want to help those that have the same problem.  For me it was light....and editing software.  You need more than a camera and a lightbox!!

So....I'm back to square one... my new adventure seems to be a world of people that think with the other side of their brain.   I'm not a stupid person...I can pick up something really fast.  But I swear it just baffles me why a company would put out a product and then make it so difficult to manage.  The manual is 640 page long and after you've read it ....it still doesn't tell you how to make changes.  Seems to me more people would buy a product if it was a tad easier to use....maybe I'm missing something?  (insert scratching head here)

Most of what I've learned for my websites....I've googled or watched You Tube videos...but this time there are no you tube videos available...what a bummer!!!
But you know me I'm not giving up....but in the back of my mind I'm wondering...is this a sign the adventure is too big for me?

Who knows..... I'll just continue to pray!!

Gotta run...grocery store is calling (not really but you know I have to get supper ready before Dave gets home)

p.s.  I had a dream last night that I went shopping with Shelli and her daughters (Shelli the founder of Stampin' Up!) ...that was a real trip because when I woke up I could have sworn it really happened!!  That's what you get with pain meds :O
