Rambling

Weird title!
I was thinking maybe I should just date it.
I don't have any one particular subject.....just me rambling... or maybe I should say venting.

I got home late last night...my flight was delayed a few times and by the time I got home I was so tired I could hardly eat!!

I learned a lesson last night....some times I'm opinionated.... I've seen people run through the airport and I've thought to myself they should have gotten there sooner.....  But after last night....I've learned my lesson......when all those people wouldn't let me pass them.... I realized they're thinking the same way.  That maybe it was my fault I was running late....but it wasn't....it was the airline.
So....I'll never judge people running through the airport again!!

This post is seriously going to be a venting....leave now if you must :) just kidding.   Maybe I should say warning warning (who remembers Lost in Space?  everytime I type warning warning I can hear that robot saying "warning warning danger danger"....I loved that show!).

Today I woke up thinking I'm going to have a productive day and I'm going to get started early.  Fluffy and Sissy woke me up around 6 and after that my brain got to thinking....so off to work I go.

Some time after 8am I needed to add an event to my ipad calendar (ical)...so I added it and turned it off.   But....I thought to myself I better double check I entered the right year (our year is about to change) and when I tried to turn it on....it didn't work.

I about freaked and spent the next hour doing everything I could to fix it.   Charging it didn't work, connecting it to itunes didn't work....nothing.  I was in total panic mode!!  By the time 9am rolled around I had made myself an appt with the apple store.  I left with enough time to get there....except.....not one car but two of them.....got in front of me and drove 30 in a 45mph.  I missed my appt by 8 minutes.

Long story short...even though I missed my appt the manager was able to do a hard boot on it and it came right up. I could have hugged him or something I was so happy!!  and I was thanking God it wasn't broken!!

The heater people came to fix our furnace today.  Hopefully we'll not have any more mornings of waking up without heat.  The ignite thingy needed something. (that sentence is worded all wrong but it's late and I'm tired.)

Tomorrow is another crazy day!! Blood work in the morning for Brooke ....then off to the mall ...she starts CAPS next week and needs business casual clothes for five days a week for the next five months.  We've very excited she's in the program!!  I wish they'd accept me as a student :)

After that I need to get Fluffy to the vet....she's not doing well and I'm afraid to take her in.  I really hope they don't mention the cancer word again!!!

Thanks for listening to my rambling!
See ya!

Christmas week

This week has been absolutely crazy!! We wrapped up our Christmas shopping the day before Christmas eve (I think Tammy said she calls it Christmas Eve Eve).

Dave was a real trooper....he drove me around....and even went to the grocery store with me.  Two people shopping for groceries is so much faster...I think I may beg him to go with me more often!!

We celebrated Christmas last night.....went to church at 8pm and was able to sleep in a tad this morning.
We're going to see True Grit this afternoon (Dave and I never saw the John Wayne version) and I'm super excited! I love Jeff Bridges...he's my most favorite actor next to Anthony Hopkins (& Nicholas Cage).

Tomorrow I'm headed to south Georgia for my uncles funeral.

If I find some downtime I may post a few pictures I've taken lately (but you know me I have no concept of time).

Have a Merry Christmas!!

oops at the post office

I had a little problem at the post office yesterday and that reminded me of a story I could tell......since I love telling stories :)

Before I begin my story....let me tell what happened yesterday.

It's no secret that I'm overwhelmed right now....but true be told even if I wasn't injured...I would still be stressed and overwhelmed.  It's who I am :)  and 90% of the time I do it to myself.

So, yesterday I took 140 Christmas cards to the post office (I'm still not done).....and instead of going in...I drove up to the blue box and dumped them in........except...... the very last card landed in my lap and it did not have a stamp.   Holy cow...did that mean all my cards didn't have stamps?  I didn't know..... I had some help.  So..... I drove home as fast as I could to get my Business Line card....drove back to the post office.  Walked right up to the business line......Thank God Suzanne was working the window and she knows me!!!  I told her I didn't think my cards had postage...since that one landed on my lap and it did not.
So, she had some guy walk out there......dug through the box for me and as it turns out the only card that didn't have postage was the one that landed on my lap.   Isn't that just amazing?  I say God was watching out for me and made that card land in my lap!!

So, that got me to thinking about another mishap that happened at that very same blue box about 8 or 9 years ago.

I was the Yearbook chairperson for the elementary school.  And the deadline for certain parts of it were due around the holidays (closer to Thanksgiving ....I think).  So I'm digging my heels in ...working on the yearbook ....deadline is on Monday....it's Sunday and what do I do?  I fall up the stairs and break my finger :O    (yes I fell up the stairs!!)

Here's the low down... I'm headed up the stairs with my arms loaded with stuff ...remember I was working on the yearbook ... and I tripped.....not sure which item broke my finger...I think it was the clipboard.  (I also think my toe got stuck in my pj's but we'll never know...it happened so fast.)

It was a sight to see!!!   of course Dave was out of town...I was in my pjs.....  My finger is killing me....swollen and purple....so  I run outside to my neighbors for help.   Not my brightest moment....oh well water under the bridge.

So, now we fast forward to what happens a few days later.
I have a splint thing on my pinkie finger ....and I need to mail an envelope....so I drove up to the blue box ....went to put the envelope in the box and I dropped it on the ground....(it's not easy with that splint thing)......so I get out and pick up the envelope and I raise up and hit my head on the box.  It hurt like no other....of course I said that about breaking my finger too....but seriously it hurt so bad everything went black and I couldn't see straight.  Some how I get back into my car...now picture this...I'm driving with my right hand...my left hand with the splint is holding on my head .....because the pain was unbearable.  Who knows if anyone saw me hit my head or holding my head as I'm driving...if they did they must have laughed really hard....I'm I looked like Lucille Ball or the Three Stooges ....except.... I really was hurt!

As you can see I lived to tell the story ....but that month was a real doozy!!

I wonder if all those hours of watching the Three Stooges rubbed off on me :)

See ya later!

a quick story

I just have to share this with someone.... yesterday I was in the doctors office .....  and while I was waiting I was reading a book.  Yes...normally when I'm reading I use my ipad ....but when it's a book I want to make notes in I buy the book and mark it up with my highlighter and pencil.
My Bible is the same way.....I also dog ear the pages :O  I know some of you are cringing :)   I only do it on books that I need to reference later.
Back to my story...so this lady looks over at me and laughs at the title.  And then she says it out loud....like it's funny or something.  She even repeats it like it's a joke or something.
So then she asks me "are you going to cash in on your passion"...  I didn't really know how to respond so I told her I had an online business and I was reaching people all across the country.  She wasn't impressed but that's okay .... remember she's the one that approached me.  Maybe a real sales person would have jumped in and tried to convince her that stamping or blogging is the best thing since sliced bread.   But that's not my style.
I love what I do and I want to share it but not that way :)

The book I'm reading is "Why now is the time to Crush it!  Cash in on your Passion.

Let me explain...I read a lot!  it's a way to shut my brain down.....other wise it never stops thinking.  Most of the books I read are mystery/romance.  I love Nora Roberts and Nicholas Sparks....James Patterson.....the list could go on and on.
But I also read things that feed my brain ....you could call it self educating.
So, I ran across this dude on You Tube and he spoke very passionately about his business....he's over the top hyber & loud...and funny too.   But what he was saying is Right On!

I've been telling my sister Kim to start a blog for years.....but she just hasn't caught the bug.  I've even started a few for her but again...she's not like me.  I've kept a journal since I was ten years old and taken pictures all my life....all that is the same as blogging...or to me it is :)
So, this book that I'm reading asks....what are you passionate about?   For me...I could list several things!  But I called Kim yesterday and she couldn't tell me.  I ask her...what's your five most favorite things in your house?   She couldn't tell me.  So...now I'm on a mission to find Kim :)   I love you Kim and you know I only have good intentions.  She likes a lot of stuff....but what makes her jump up and down happy?

That's my question for the day?  What are you passionate about?  Do you have something that brings you incredible joy?

Next subject...I was in a lot of pain last night...so I went to bed early with my laptop.  I watched two movies...one made me cry really hard and the other made me laugh.  I'm looking forward to Christmas week.....I'm going to watch at least 10 movies and maybe more!! (another thing I'm passionate about .... I love movies...but we'll chat about that later.)

See ya!
p.s. the movies I watched were "When in Rome" and "A walk in my shoes".  (everyone should have to watch "a walk in my shoes"....it was sad but so relevant in our world.)

One down & more to go!!

I can strike one item off my list of things that was causing me stress :)

Brooke and I have been struggling with our washing machine for months and with both of us working with one hand and a defective washer....can you see the picture?  One big pile of dirty laundry :O
(I really should be taking pictures to share with my stories.....that's a scary thought.)

So Dave and I went out yesterday and bought a new set.  Our dryer was one that I had bought in a yard sale several years ago and it was having issues too.

They're being delivered tomorrow and I'm looking forward to washing our clothes for one cycle only (you don't want to hear all the things that crazy washing machine was doing!!).  By the way we bought a Samsung but please if you have one that doesn't work right...don't tell me. I don't want to hear anything negative.  If I think positive thoughts all will be well!! (that's how my brain thinks.)

Hopefully that new set can work miracles and get us caught up!!

p.s. Thanks for all the kind emails and comments about my "i got the blue" post!! I love y'all :)

I got the blues :(

Seriously I'm a little sad!!
Part of it is because I can't use my left arm...or I should say I'm not supposed too.
And part of it because it's Christmas and I don't have a tree up and my house is a train wreck.
And...I'm sad for my friends that have lost their jobs and are struggling to buy gifts and make ends meet.
And my aunt is going through a hard time with my uncle's sickness and I'm too far away to do anything.

This was the year that I was going to go gang busters for Christmas! I swore in 2010 I was going to reclaim Angie and bring back those things that brought me joy. For example....my Snow Villages. We have such memories of those....not just because every year I got a new one on our anniversary ...but because Brooke was always fascinated with them!! I can't tell you how many times I would find the cows moved or the little trees. I think she must have thought since they were so little they were meant for her. I can still see her face when I could catch her playing with them. First it would be a look of oh no I'm in trouble...and then a smile because how could I not laugh. She looked so darling!! I miss moments like that. (Okay...I'll admit there were days in there that I lost my temper and hollered...aka yelled.)

Yesterday we went to the doc because Brooke hurt her bicep tendon in her right arm and I have my thing going on with my left so I told her we could tape ourselves together and we'd be one complete person. That cracked us up for a while!! She doesn't want to laugh when I say crazy stuff...but she does. I love it!
I just realized this whole paragraph came out of nowhere :) oh well...I thought it so I typed it.

Have a great day ... & go do something nice for someone you love or even a stranger!

Headache story

I have a million other things I could talk about today but ......I thought we could  all use a good chuckle :)

I woke up in terrible pain today....my head, neck, face.  Let's just say from the neck up!!
I tried working...I tried sleeping...I took a hot bath (twice) and one shower...nothing helped the pain.   Around mid afternoon Dave came in the kitchen and I was at my wits end....I was seriously on the verge of going to the ER.   The funny part to this story is not about the headache...but everything I did to get rid of it.

After I went to the doctor and came home (feeling somewhat better but not totally)....Dave came up to me and said "you scared me....you stood on one leg, you ate chocolate, you drank a sprite, you drank a cup of coffee...etc......all to get rid of a headache".
His point was....to him I was doing all sorts of weird things...to get rid of a headache.  He thought I'd lost my marbles....a simple way to get rid of a headache is to take medicine.   All I could say to him is...clearly you've never experienced a headache like mine!!  To hear him say it would have made you laugh...he's much funnier than I am..... with that dry sense of humor  (I wonder...do all Dave's have a dry sense of humor...you know like Dave Letterman?).

That reminds me another story....about his humor.  One day we were driving past our neighbor ......as he was carting off some dirt.   And Dave leaned out the window and said "it's about time you moved that dirt".  And I instantly slugged him and said  "you can't say that, he'll think you mean it".  He replied back "no, he knows I'm joking".  But did he?
I guess it's no secret I over think things...but still I wonder :)  By the way he was joking...that dirt had only been there a day or two.

Gotta go .....I have a million emails to check and need to babysit myself to make sure I don't get the awful headache back!!

I'm ready

I've been secretly working on some things and I'm finally ready to share.
I've started the process of trademarking my name.   I was already in the process ...but when my good friend told me how her computer crashed and when she went to find me ....... and there are several people using my name.

So, instead of dealing with it myself....I'll just turn it over to the lawyers.  I have gone through a whole range of emotions.  For some blogging is an emotional outlet but for some of us it pays the bills.  I've said it many times...since I did not go to college .....being able to contribute to my childrens college fund is a dream come true!!

And if there's any money left over I'm going too.  I know by then I'll be in my 50's but I say it's never to late to start anything.  The day I bought my first Mac is the perfect example.  I told the guy I'm too old to change systems...I had always used a PC....and he said in your line of work....you need a Mac and then he proceeded to tell me how easy it was.  So...I took a chance it was one of the best decisions I've ever made!!!  Honestly!!! I could go on for hours but I won't do that to you.   But can I just say the minutes I used to sit and wait for those darn computers to boot up.....it's a thing of the past. I love my mac.

I know ....this has turned into a short story...or a long story.  You know this blog has kinda turned into my journal.   I love to write....hence the reason I have five thousand websites....just kidding.  I only have about 30.  I was just thinking the other day....when I'm dead....morbid I know.....my sites will carry on.  Probably longer than we want them too :)

Okay....for the next thing (had to list trademarking my name first ...it's just so awesome).

I've started an official forum ....and I jumped in with two feet...without knowing what I was doing.
So, I've been going in circles.....can you picture that?
Anywho.....I finally made a decision that I'm going to start it out as a Team Forum.  And later ....after we've added content I will decide who to open it up to.  I want my dear customers to be next....but then I also have my demo friends ....and that brings up how can I afford it if I open it to everyone.  The bandwidth thing is still over my head.
So, why did I do it?   I should follow my own advice.  I tell my downline when you plan something...have a goal in sight.  That way you know what steps to take.  For example if you're doing a craft fair.  What is your goal?  Do you want to sell product or do you want to plant seeds and get leads?  By knowing your goal...it allows you to work smarter.

But I didn't do that....with the forum.  What is my goal?  Until I figure it out.... my team and I will use it and I'm excited...really ....I am!  I'm just scared of the money thing....we've all heard horror stories of people going over their bandwidth and their bills being thousands of dollars.   See...that's what's holding me back!!

Gotta run....didn't work yesterday and now I'm two days behind (because I work from 7am to almost midnight...isn't that like two days of work?).

See ya!

Live it up

Look what was I got in the mail box today :)
Okay I'll admit I got it on itunes as well but how could I resist having the case and keeping it in my car (check out the picture of him on the inside.....WOW).

Ever since Lee Dewyze won American Idol I've counted the days for his album release ...... kinda like waiting for the Twilight movie release.

I've only had it a few hours....right now my favorite is A Song About Love. Check it out.....on itunes or his website http://www.leedewyzeofficial.com/.  I also really like Beautiful Like You ....and how can you resist Sweet Serendipity?

I had stamp club today but had to stay up til midnight last night so I could be one of the first ones to see his music video go live....pretty awesome!!!

One more ...and then I gotta get back to work....so last night I was checking out his website....they made some major improvements and I love it.....so I noticed his cute little favicon and I was wracking my brain trying to figure it out.  I could see the tree of life (I love that symbol) but it had something over it.  So I googled and googled trying to figure out what his logo was....

Well it came to me after I had the CD in my hands.... his logo is his intials LD .... so if you go to his website and right by his name you'll see at the end of it the symbol :)   LD with a tree behind it.  I love it!!
Am I weird ....or am I slow?  just remember I always say it's the little things :)

See ya!

Christmas Bells Cookies

Holiday Baking is right around the corner...so I thought I would post the cookies I made every year.  Sometimes.... this is the only cookie I make and then other years it's just one of many.

One of the reasons it's my favorite is ....it's not too sweet...in other words you can eat a whole dozen of them and not get sick :O   They're almost like a soft sugar cookie (less sweet) with a yummy maraschino cherry in the center.

Here it goes...but before I post it I should give credit.  This recipe is an slightly edited version of the Christmas Bells Cookie recipe found in a Christmas Southern Living Cookbook .....many years ago. (one of my favorite books.....I buy every year).

Ingredients are:
2/3 cp unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cp sugar
1 lg egg
1 tsp orange peel
1 tsp vanilla
2 cps all purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
30 maraschino cherries, halved

Beat butter in large mixing bowl until creamy.  Add sugar and beat well.  Add orange peel, egg & vanilla, beating until well blended.  Combine flour and baking powder in a separate bowl and gradually add it to the butter mixture, beat until well blended.
Cover and chill for 30 minutes (not much longer than that or it will harden and you will have a hard time rolling it out).
Shape dough into 2 rolls. Wrap rolls in Saran wrap and chill for 8 hours.  Cut into 1/4" slices and place on un-greased cookie sheet.  Place one cherry on top of each cookie and Bake at 350% for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 5 dozen cookies :)

See ya!

P.s.

I should remember ....... Do not post on blog with a splitting headache.
I posted my Christmas Journal today and totally forgot to add the title.....wonder what else I did wrong?

Not again :)

I'm starting to sound like a broken record!!
Yesterday I woke up and felt soooooo much better. It was the first day in over a week that I felt normal.
And then.....in the middle of the night.....neck starting hurting and my head. And the headache is a real show stopper.
So....I'm in bed trying to figure out what to do.....call the doctor or give it one more day.
Is it possible my headache is a result of the rain heading our way? Don't ask....the rain has always affected me.

Gotta run.....even the pecking sound from my iPad makes my head hurt (and normally I like the sound).

Busier than a bee

I'm not sure my brain has ever worked as hard as it has lately!!

But ....before I go into that....let me just say....

I HATE BEING SICK!!
It's such a waste of time!!  I just want to act like a three year old and fall to the floor kicking and screaming.   This is not the time for me to be sick.
But then again....when is a good time?

Now that I've gotten that off my chest :)

I have a few exciting things to share....I start with the craziest!

My latest ipad app that I love is Talking Tom (although I think I'm changing his name to Porkchop).  I had a cat when I was 15 and his name was Porkchop and I swear Talking Tom reminds me of him.

Anywho.....everything you say....Talking Tom repeats...but in a silly voice.  And you can scratch him and he purrs or pulling his tail .... you know...he's not so happy.  I woke Brooke up this morning with Talking Tom repeating what I was saying....like "I love Brookie" and when he copies your laugh....well....it's a hoot!

Now for the business stuff.  My Chic n Scratch  Classroom has started and other than the decor I believe it's ready.  It took me so many hours it's just scary!!  But people have joined....they are excited....me too..... and my first private video is loaded and ready to view after the (15th).  I'm so happy to almost have the setup complete...and once we get through a couple months I think the hard part will be over.

My next adventure is reminding me of the days when I started my Chic n Scratch blog.  I used to stay up half the night trying to figure out how to set it up.  The words typelists and all that were so foreign!  I would ask for help but no one would help me.  I cried a lot!!  I bet I ask at least 25 people how to take pictures for my blog and how to make them look good.  That's why when I figured it out I posted a video on my site.....I want to help those that have the same problem.  For me it was light....and editing software.  You need more than a camera and a lightbox!!

So....I'm back to square one... my new adventure seems to be a world of people that think with the other side of their brain.   I'm not a stupid person...I can pick up something really fast.  But I swear it just baffles me why a company would put out a product and then make it so difficult to manage.  The manual is 640 page long and after you've read it ....it still doesn't tell you how to make changes.  Seems to me more people would buy a product if it was a tad easier to use....maybe I'm missing something?  (insert scratching head here)

Most of what I've learned for my websites....I've googled or watched You Tube videos...but this time there are no you tube videos available...what a bummer!!!
But you know me I'm not giving up....but in the back of my mind I'm wondering...is this a sign the adventure is too big for me?

Who knows..... I'll just continue to pray!!

Gotta run...grocery store is calling (not really but you know I have to get supper ready before Dave gets home)

p.s.  I had a dream last night that I went shopping with Shelli and her daughters (Shelli the founder of Stampin' Up!) ...that was a real trip because when I woke up I could have sworn it really happened!!  That's what you get with pain meds :O

Brooke

It's late .....1:18am...and Brooke showed me this picture of herself earlier today and I just had to share it.  It's one of those things that I normally share with my sisters but they've been in the hospital with my mother today and they're tired...so I'm sharing it with you all.

Not sure why I love this picture...I just do.

I told her I loved how she used photoshop and made it look all cool...and then she told me she didn't edit it at all...she just used her webcam.  Gotta love the mac!!   And she taught me something I didn't know........ I'm so excited.  If you have a  mac...you can drag any picture off a site right on to your desktop.   (unless the picture has been locked...I don't lock mine...I figure if I've posted it online....why lock it...you know what I mean.)
So, she posted this picture on facebook and to get it on my computer ...all I did was drag it over....I can't wait to tell Kim tomorrow (middle sister) and if I convince daddy to get a mac I'll be sharing it with him too .....when he was in town I took him to the Apple store ...I love that place!!!

Good night!

p.s. In the past few months I've started streaming live on UStream...started a virtual club on My Chic n Scratch Classroom and if all goes well ....in the next month or so I'll be announcing another new adventure.  I swear my brain is learning so many new things.... I'm sure Dave just wishes I would re-organize our closets or do the spring cleaning I didn't do :)

Jibber Jabber

Is that even a word?  And where did I hear it?

I woke up this morning and decided instead of checking my email with my coffee....I'd post my jibber jabber :)

So, here is goes..... "am I still working out"?

I'm happy to say YES.  I really think I feel better when I do!! Yesterday was not a work out day and I felt like crap all day.  But...it also could have been it's the end of the week and I'm exhausted.

Here's goes some TMI........when I was in the shower Thursday....I was shaving my legs and when I went to run the razor over my calf...a little muscle popped up.  I was thrilled!!! Haven't seen one of those in a while!
As far as weight loss...I stopped weighing myself because it was depressing me.  I've not lost hardly any....but I know that muscle weighs more and I'm confident I'll start to shed. Although...who starts a weight loss program right before the holidays?  What was I thinking?

Next subject....when I purchased the Kindle and then the ipad...I kinda stopped going to the bookstore.  Or I would take Brooke and stay in the car (I know sounds worse as I'm typing it....but seriously do they want me to whip out my ipad and made a purchase right there).  Back to my story....when I read books for pleasure I prefer reading it on my ipad...but when it's motivational, self help or educational I like the book in my hands.  I re read sentences...what can I say it takes me a few times to really process it.  So, last night Brooke and I head to the book store.  While she's shopping I'm in the back of the store looking at books about computers, web design, photoshop, blogging...you know books that teach you stuff (own a bunch...read very few).   Before I get to the story I need to ask...isn't the book store like the library?  Are you supposed to be quiet for the most part?  Who can listen to someone talking a mile a minute and buy a book.
That's what we experienced last night....two young girls came over with their coffee and cupcakes and decided to talk the entire time.  And the coffee area of Borders....is at the front of the store in the opposite corner...so they left where they were supposed to be and found our quiet corner and ruined it for us.
There was one lady on her laptop trying to work....I'm sure she felt the same way.  I finally told Brooke.....I had to go I couldn't listen to the conversation another minute.
As an adult...what should I have done?  I'm pretty sure I failed that test. I admit I growled all the way out the door.  That was sooooo rude of them.  Should I have said something....or gotten management?  Would they have cared?  I'll tell you this....if I could have read the words on the pages...I would have bought more books ...but they were so distracting I couldn't understand the words.
So....book store owners.....  figure this one out for me.  The basket of books we purchased out weighed & their two cups of coffee and a cupcake bigtime!!

Okay here come another biggie....it just maybe too much info for you today.

Anytime I've confronted someone...it's always been a disaster and I don't mean little ....I mean major...it always backfires.  Here's an example....back in 1998 we had just moved to IL ...we had been there for two weeks and I drove all the way to Merrillville, Indiana ....to the nearest Sams.  When it came time to purchase...I walked up to the registers and there was a lady that was standing between two lanes...I said very nicely...."which lane are you in"?   she replied back "both"...well I laughed and said I" don't think you can do that"...seriously have you ever seen a grown woman do that?  Okay maybe some of you reading this have..but in the south...that's just called rude.

She then proceeded to chew me out and mock me the entire time she was in the store.  We had moved from Tennessee in 1995...so my southern accent was very strong then... she tried to mock my southern accent but it was just terrible.   Since Brooke was little and I was terrified they had a gun...I never said another word to her....just let her rant like a crazy person.  Had Brooke not been there...more than likely it would have been ugly but it's best it happened the way it did.  I still do think it's funny....if you think about it.  What's not funny is how she handled it.  She could have said I'm really in a hurry or I don't feel well.  I was open for discussion...but clearly she wasn't.
I sure hope whoever that was...she doesn't read my blog...and lady if you do...I FORGIVE YOU.

My blog post looks like a short story and everything I've read about blogging says keep it short and sweet.   That's hard for a person that likes to talk.

Have you seen the movie "Remember Me"?   Rent it...I wish I had known what the movie was really about.  When I saw the previews...I thought it was about a dysfunctional family.  It's really about so much more...I sobbed at the end ...well in the middle too.  If you've seen it...the scene with the little girl & what those girls did to her....broke my heart!!!
Tonight I'm going to see a double feature "You Again" and "Life as we know it".  It's been a while since I've seen two...but I remember the days when my best friend & I would go from movie to movie (sometimes we even saw three) not sure my hiney could handle that now.

See ya later!

p.s. remind me to tell you about Door Dingers :)

Favorite TV Programs

Let's talk about my Favorite TV Shows this season.

I think Hawaii Five O, Cougar Town & Vampire Diaries are the only shows I watch live...the rest of them are are set to record on my DVR.
I don't like Survivor on Wednesdays!! But I'm watching it.

Must see TV on Thursdays....still going strong ...except the line up is Vampire Diaries, Greys Anatomy, Bones, Fringe, CSI & Private Practice.  There's no way I can watch all those in one night.

Love Vampire Diaries.....can't get enough.  Greys...it's always good....but would like to see Lexie & Sloan hook up.  (or should I say get back together?)
Fringe....don't like the switch back & forth between universes but I love Peter....loved him when he was Pacey on Dawson's Creek.  If there was just a tad bit of romance mixed with all those gross stuff I would be happier.
CSI ...I watch it but its not the same with out Grissom I'll always miss Gill.  I keep hoping he'll return but I guess not.
Private Practice...good and not so good.  I don't like Violet with Pete...I thought Addy looked better with him...they were a hot couple.  I love what's her name with what's his name...when I said that my sister said their names...but all of a sudden I've forgotten them again.  You know blond lady chick...dude that is best friends with Violet?
Bones...oops....still on my other DVR ....need to watch them...maybe I'll pull an all nighter and get caught up.  I like the show but I just wish he'd go back to being Angel :)
Is this TMI?

I love to talk about TV shows....but fewer and fewer people are watching them.

Are you wondering how and when do I watch TV?  It's no secret that my motor runs non stop.....so I have to shut it down ....o wait...I may have confused you....my motor is also known as my brain.

When I'm done with work.....my brain still thinks about it.  So, everynight...when I'm done with work...I watch a program or two or three.  Depends on the night of the week.  After I watch TV I then read a chapter or two ....or if the book is really good I may read for an hour or two.  Bedtime is between midnight and 1am :)

Back to Programs since that is the subject for the night.
Other shows I love are Cougar Town!! & Mike & Molly!!   & Parenthood.  I feel like I'm missing one or maybe two.
Oh, I just remembered one...CSI New York.  I'm happy it's on Friday...gives us something to watch...thanks CBS :O

Another one...Brothers & Sisters. I miss Robert and the show has lost something...besides Robert. I love Sally Fields and she's hilarious!!

Better go ...tomorrow is going to be a very long day!!!

p.s. I may have made a mistake or two with my grammar ....but I'm tired and just want to talk/type...you know what I mean?  don't hold it against me :)

Homecoming 2010

Homecoming was yesterday and I had a great time being mom!!

I painted Brooke's toenails and fingernails and tried to do her hair.  We both agreed next year I'm taking her to a salon.  It's not easy, she has thin hair and no matter how much hair spray I used I couldn't get it to hold.....sorry Brookie!!!

Next year it will be better because that awkward stage of growing the bangs out will be a thing of the past.

Here's a picture of the two of us :)
I'll have to check her camera and see if I can find another picture or two.

See ya,

p.s. I picked Brooke up from the after party around 2am this morning and as we're driving down the road an animal runs out....to me it looked like a wolf...Brooke says it was a fox.  I passed it too fast so we turned around to see what it really was...and it was gone.  I swear it was a wolf...but maybe it was a Coyote (it looked too big to be a fox).

my hybrid & the decision

Last Saturday we started the search for my new vehicle.  Dave was turning in his company car and that left me without a ride.

For the past 18 years I've driven fleet cars ...purchased from the company that Dave works for.   But this time....timing was an issue (among a few other things).

So, we decided to test drive new so we could see what I liked and then the plan was we'd buy a used version.   And we tried.  We spent Saturday thru Tuesday searching....and it was painful with a capital P!!

I test drove so many that I told Dave to just buy me one and I'd be happy (but I was secretly hoping he'd arrive with my favorite). We wanted a good price but there are some things I really wanted & since I've always driven fleet vehicles they've never had any bells & whistles.  Don't we all know by now I'm a bells & whistles kind of girl?

We drove new & used and I kept coming back to the Mercury Mariner (okay I need to insert this here....if you have had any negative things happen with a Mercury Mariner or a Hybrid, please don't tell me...I don't want to know...I know some of you have only good intentions.... but if you tell me I will worry and then not be happy).

Back to the Mercury Mariner....when I drove it...or from the minute I sat in it...it felt like my car (SUV).   On Monday they let me bring it home for the night.  On Tuesday I took it back and almost cried.

So it was back to square one going from dealer to dealer searching for a car. We checked out Nissan and Honda on that day.  Them not letting us drive the car alone....did not allow us to talk freely about the pros and cons and I was ready to run off the lot...not walk.

If any car salesman reads this post....if you want to sell a car...you need to give your customers some space....allow them to test drive it alone! It's possible I would look closer at the Pathfinder but I felt crowded ...does that make sense.

Tuesday night I was a basket case! I was done searching and wanted someone to make the decision for me.
I called my sister Deanna....or maybe she called me.   Since I'm the oldest I'm normally the advice giver but this time Deanna dished it out to me.

I've been saving my money to help pay for Chase and Brookes college education and I was feeling guilty...how can I buy a new car...if I wanted to help with their college fees?  And Deanna reminded me that when is the right time?  When they are both in college?  That made sense....and then we discussed that I'd keep it long enough to pay for it.  We chatted some more & when I got off the phone ......I went upstairs and told Dave I was done.  I wanted the Mariner and I would make some sacrifices to get it.  On Wednesday he made me wait all day to get it (okay he was working but you know it felt intentional).  I was so afraid someone was going to walk up and buy it!

I've driven it all over town and I love it!

We had the perfect sales rep...he did not pressure us...he never called the house....he gave us the info and then gave us a chance to think about it.

I love the Navigation system...I love the hands free phone feature! The stereo is awesome (I still listen to my music loud..it's an escape from reality).  The sunroof/moonroof is very cool...and the best of all is I'm figuring I may have to get gas once a month...maybe less.
I hate going to the gas station and buying a Hybrid makes me happy!!

Have a great day:)

Still going :)

Do you ever feel like the Energizer Bunny?
You know how he just goes and goes and goes...... That's me....right now!!

So, I'm trying to look at what I do and figure out how to make it more manageable.  If I were to get really sick or something....I don't know if I'd ever get caught up.
In less than one week I had three people ask me if I was mad at them....of course I'm not!  I just can't get caught up!!

My emails have increased to over 600 a day.....I need help. I'm never getting to the bottom of them and then that drives me crazy and make me feel bad.  At this point if I checked every email...everyday...I'd never stamp again :O

Once the holidays are over I'm sure it will level out but right now it's crazy!  Don't take it wrong ...I'm not complaining but I just want to have a better control.

Next subject...wait...how about I create a new post?  Be right back :)

Two more days....I think

It looks like I've dropped off the face of the earth...but I haven't.
If all goes according to plans...I'll have a little breathing room in two more days (Thursday).

Because I fit sooooo much into one day....when I'm out of town....I'm almost buried when I return.  And I get really tired after traveling and it takes a few days for me to get back into the swing of things.

Last week I had Stamp Club twice...Halloween Class on Friday...Halloween kits to cut and finish typing the instructions ....And......Chase started his first job (and I had a tummy ache for two days).

As for the weight loss....I've lost 6 pounds....but I wish it was more...but what can I say when I went out of town the diet went out the window.  I've started something new and if it works I'll be singing it from the roof top and sharing it with you :)

TV programs started back and OMG I'm so happy!! I love that all my shows are back....thank goodness I have a DVR to record them!   The only new show I'm watching this year is Hawaii Five O and I swore I would never watch a new program on CBS again but this show has the dude from Moonlight and I'll watch anything he's in.....by the way...you should watch it :)  CBS 9pm central time.  Was that a big enough sales pitch or do you need more info?

I started back with my trainer today & my body is hurting!  Epson Salt & bathtub here I come :)

Goodnight!

Changes??

I'm thinking about making some changes .....that's not a shock is it?
If nothing else you have to agree I'm always doing something (good or destructive).

So, I have a question.....how many people actually read this blog (#10 out of 30....just kidding).  I don't have a stat counter or anything like on here....mainly because I was afraid no one was reading it or tons of people are reading it :)  Scary the way my brain works!!

But...before I decide whether to make a change...I need to see how many it affects.  The change is not bad or good...just different :)

I know some of you like being anonymous (I get that...it's one of the reason's I've always liked dressing up for Halloween).   So, you can email me, post on here, or post on here and ask me to not publish it.  Not sure if you've noticed but I approve all comments before their posted on this blog.

Now for the reward...because I know some of you will need motivation to click on the word comment :)

I'll be gone at Founders Circle all week and when I return ...I'll draw one name to win a little basket of goodies.  You can choose...either Stampin' Up! stuff or Tastefully Simple (I'm working on placing my first order so I can have some stuff here for my Halloween Treats Class).

Have a great day!!

p.s. I may post from my ipad while I'm at Founders & I may not :)

Weird stuff again

I'm at the mall on Saturday looking for some pj's for my Founders Circle Trip.
Found a pair I could live with ...not a fan of wearing pjs in front of people but maybe once I lose weight I'll feel differently.
I go to the register to pay and they tell me that their system is down....they can't even take cash.
So I finish up my shopping in the mall, call them to see if their computers are back up....no they are not.
I left without them...& don't have time to run over there again....or maybe I'll squeeze it in tomorrow.  But I was thinking.....was that a sign that I looked horrible in them and I need to go somewhere else?

I'm short ...only 5' 3.   It's hard to find jammies that don't drag the floor & the petites are always the first to go...why is that?
Kinda like my shoe size or my shirt size...I can search the whole rack and only my size is sold out.

Different subject now.... I was working on my swaps for Founders Circle today and I dropped the entire container of Clear Embossing powder all over my desk, floor and swaps...dang it :(  I'm still feeling all itchy from that stuff.

See ya!

p.s. please don't take my post as a complaint....like I said earlier...these crazy things happen all the time and it just gives me something to talk about.

Ipad & Blog test

I'm leaving Wednesday and Im checking to see if I can post from my iPad this week. Seems like I remember an issue but can't remember what :)

I just took a peek at the preview.....looks like I can't make my font larger....so .......when I get home I'll come back and increase the font.

Now I'm off to check my chicnscratch blog...not sure about typepad with the iPad :)

See ya,

Headaches

I normally post this stuff on my facebook page.....but what the heck....I'll put it here.
Headaches are horrible!!!
and ear aches too :(

I'm going to admit defeat and go to bed....even though I have a million things to do before I leave on Wednesday.

Tomorrow is a new day!!!

I've done it again

It's time for a story :)

Way back when I was in school...not sure which school since I moved a few times.  There was a fundraiser or something that had a kit. I remember taking that box around to everyone and selling the heck out of it.  Someone even said to me you're going to be a fantastic sales person one day.  Of course back then I was just thrilled to hear that I had done something positive!!  (I'm pretty sure the only teacher that ever liked me was my first grade teacher .....after that I drove them all crazy.)

So...being who I am ...I was like there is no way I'll be a salesman/or saleswoman! I struggle with walking up to people and knowing what to say.  And I'm really shy when I first meet someone.... I like to say I keep my pie hole shut until it's safe to open it :)   Don't forget I'm a southern girl ....we use all sorts of phrases like that!!
The point of my story is....I guess I really am a salesman/woman.  I could start with the most current....but lets start at the beginning.

It's no secret that my main goal in life was to get married and have children (& be happy).  At the age of 10 I was already thinking of my future....maybe it started out as an escape from reality.  Anywho....  I started my hope chest way before most....what can I say....it's who I am.

So....here it comes....I became a Tupperware demonstrator at 18 and I sold enough to build my hope chest full of tupperware.  After that it was Princess House and although I never became a demonstrator...I had enough book parties to get one of everything.
I took a break after that...moved out on my own and money was very tight!
Then I got married...had children and what did I do.... Signed up with Tupperware again...but this time is was harder to sell ....people had moved on.  So, then I tried Creative Memories.   When I started that it was like a light bulb moment.  I love taking pictures and I've kept journals all my life.  And at the time I said I had found what I was always looking for....it was perfect!!
But the restrictions of being limited to only using their product forced me to look elsewhere.  After 17 albums I told my family that can you see me when I'm 80 saying yeah all these albums look the same because I wasn't allowed to use anything else.  (After you've used the same sticker 5 or 6 times...it's time to move on.) Plus who can resist chalks & eyelets (very popular back when I quit).  I love simple...but there are times I need flare and stickers & die cuts wasn't cutting it for me.
Then I tried Southern Living at Home.  I had subscribed to Southern Living forever!!  So I thought it would be a good fit.  But I found it difficult to get shows and when I did product was on backorder for along long time.  I remember having to call what few customers I had and tell them it was on major backorder.   If you know me I can't handle service like that so that ended that.
I tried Pampered Chef and I love their products but by the time I jumped in....the market in this area is saturated!!

Next.... Stampin' Up!   My good scrapbooking friend moved away and she called me one day from New York and said "you've got to go to a Stampin' Up! workshop".  She knows me well!!  At the time I was VP of our PTO so I remembered hearing that the historian was a SU demo.  So, I called her and said.... "Can I come over and see how to stamp" And then I said "I want to see it all...I'm not the kind of person that wants to see just a black inkpad & coloring...I want to see it all".  She said come on over and we spent one hour with her showing me everything.
Of course I was hooked at first site...but I like to do my homework.  So, that was a Friday.....and over the wekened I drove to the Memory Garden the Scrapbook Page, then to three different Michaels and two Hobby Lobbys.   No one had what the Stampin' Up! catalog had to offer.  I of course signed up as soon as I could and the rest of the story is....it will be 8 years Oct. 30th.
I'm still in love with everything and although there have been some bumps along the way I love what I'm doing.

But back to the whole point of this story...I thought it was more about paper crafts...since I love them so much.  But I think some of it is sales.  I've admitted in the past that I like sales but the more I think about it the more I think I could sell anything that I love.  (Like apple computers or my ipad.)

So why did I share the mini story....because this week I signed up to be a Tastefully Simple demonstrator :)  are you shaking your head?  do you want to know why?   I can't really tell you except that I wanted to....the kit was $99 and I decided why not.   My plan is not to make it a business (although they may kick me out for saying that).  I just want to be able to sell enough to be a demo so I can send cool food packages to my family. For example a few years back I sent packages to everyone in our family (for Christmas).  It was so easy because all I had to do was order it & have it sent to a different address and they can put a note on it that it's from me :)

So, family of mine....if you're reading this....yes this year you are getting Tastefully Simple care packages again.
Not to make you all feel bad but can you believe out of all the family I have ....not one them has anything to do with papercrafting. It's sad thinking about it .....but I've accepted it and I'm sure the next generation will be different (hint hint nieces & nephews).

So, here's a little tidbit of info ....just in case you want to order something.  The website works very differently.  My link will take you to my Tastefully Simple website page but you need my name or id number to order. (ID #0109194)  Not sure why...since I just joined but I thought I should mention that just in case.  Please do not feel pressured to order anything!! I'm just trying this out....and I'm excited that I will have some food on hand when we need it....you know what I mean?   The Black bean salsa over chicken breast in the oven only takes 45 minutes and it's yummy over a salad or some rice.

Have a great weekend!!

p.s. My whole body hurts today....training was very intense yesterday but I'm excited to lose weight. I think I may go join Weight Watchers to help me with my food.  I'm struggling with that!!

Still going strong

Just checking in to say yes I'm still on my diet and I'm still working out :)
Now that I'm going to the gym I've lost at least 2 hours of my day and I'm trying to figure out how to make that up!

Gotta run

p.s. I'm also getting ready for Founders Circle....that adds about a million things I need to do before Wednesday.

3 pounds

I've not stepped on a scale since I started the gym...until today.  I was going to wait until I had to go down a pants size...but they weighed me at the gym and once I was ask if I wanted to know I said sure...although now I'm wishing I hadn't.

Three pounds is okay... or some would say it's good.  And if I was doing the meal plans and exercising I would see more results....but here's the thing. I tend to focus on one thing and focus on it til death....meaning I'm focusing on exercising ...not so much the eating.  I know I need to focus on that too...but I will once I get a little farther.  I just need to see results to get even more motivated!!

Yesterday as I was in the kitchen & I found myself doing squats.   Today I was in the kitchen doing squats with 3 pound weights.  Chase laughed at me and said "they were so light that he could throw them like a baseball"  ....I say "whatever"!!

The thing is ..... I'm working on it.   Today I got myself one of those big exercise balls .....warning warning... I lack coordination...aka I'm clumsy.  Let's hope I can keep my balance!!  I got it because I need to practice...I'm sure I look like a total nut case at the gym!!  I say it's the left brain right brain thing ....need I say more?

So....two personal things this week.  One will make you laugh and one will make you cry (not really but you'll understand why I said it).
  1. Someone posted on my YouTube channel that I should stop being racist ..... that there are guys that stamp too.  Well...... it's not called racist ...... it would be called prejudice ... and I'm not.  I say you guys all the time...on occasion I do say ladies...but I mainly say "you guys".  In the old days it was always ya'll ...which applied to male or female ...but I've adapted to not living in south and say "you guys"....to be honest I'd prefer to say ya'll but I've been corrected too many times & that was no fun!!
  2. My SAM at Stampin' Up! is leaving & tomorrow is her last day.   I will miss her terribly!!  I'm not even sure how I'm going to handle not having her to talk to.  I don't talk to her as much as I used to but she's the one person there that knows me and trusts me and gets me.  So .....tomorrow will be tough because I need to say goodbye & good luck to her....but how can I when I can't even type it without crying?
Gotta run...busy day tomorrow!!

Day Four

Wow...today has been crazy!! I decided to tear into my office and get going on one of my goals.

I like setting goals...it gives me direction...and if I set them I'm usually more successful.

So, other than weight loss ...my other big goal is to get my office in a position that I don't have to hide or stash anything if someone says their coming over.  I'd like it to be like my living room......where it's always nice but that's unrealistic since I need to work....and you know when I work stuff is all over the place!!

Back to my day.....I decided to spend 90% of my day moving stuff around, I moved a ton of stuff out of my office.....threw away a little and actually went through stacks of papers and organized them.
When I have my stuff in order I feel GREAT!! That should be a huge motivator to stay on top of it.

Day four of my diet.....food wise I did terrible...I was working so hard I needed food as fuel.  I walked very aggressively for 25 minutes...drank four glasses of water ...won't go into what I ate....or wait .....maybe I will.

Two very large cups of coffee (really equals four cups if we measured it), 2 scrambled eggs (two egg whites only one yoke), one piece of dry toast, peanut butter and banana sandwich with 16 baked lays chips, baked potato, 1 1/2 hot dogs with half a bun & a fresh cucumber out of my garden.

After typing it ....maybe I didn't do so bad after all.  I should have only had one of those hot dogs but I was starved after moving all that furniture!!
I hit the gym tomorrow at 8:30...wish me luck!

Good night :)

Day Three

This is almost a repeat of what I said yesterday....I'm too tired to type.   I'm going to finish this post and I'm headed to bed.  I am such a whimp ....but oh well what can I say?

Day Three of my exercise/weight loss program.  I hit the gym at 8:30 this morning.  I was measured & weighed and now it officially begins.  I was on one of the machines for a total of three minutes I was ready to jump off...I gave it one more minute and I was outta there :O
I'm excited to get started but I dread the keeping track of everything....but once I see some results that will motivate me to keep on trucking!

See ya later!

Day Two

It's late and I'm almost too tired to post but I thought I should do it so I can reference it later :)

I didn't drink all my water today but I walked for twenty minutes.  I had toast for breakfast (with coffee). Salad for lunch (dressing was probably major fattening) and a hamburger for supper with some baked lays chips (I picked off half the bun and threw it away).  Night time snack...small bowl of blueberries to feed my brain.

Not a terrible day ...but not good either.  Tomorrow I'll try to do better!!
On a much lighter note...today I figured out a way to re-organize a section of my room...if it all goes well ..... I'll be sooo excited!  My ultimate goal is to not have to hide or stash anything in my office if someone says their coming over.   I still say I'm more creative when it's in shambles but maybe I'm making excuses :O

Good night!

Day one

I did it....I started my exercise program today.
My plan was to start August 15th but what was I thinking....Chase & Brooke were still on summer break.

So, today three of us walked from our house to Prairie Life Fitness Center and once we got there we took a class....then we walked home.   But....let me just say....during the class...I mainly laid on the mat trying to recover from the 40 minute walk there.   It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so darn hot in Kansas (I know in a few months I'll be complaining about the cold).

So.... where do I go from here....I'm almost thinking I need a trainer...but ..... I hate to spend the money...but then again.....what if I only needed one for three months. I could cut back on some other things and make it work.   We'll see...I just know that I'm going to look for every reason in the world to not go back on Wednesday.

Wish me luck!!

I did it!!

I've been working on something for almost a year and I finally got it figured out!!
If I count all the hours I've spent on Google ..... and all the trips to Best Buy and the Apple store...I'm pretty sure I've spent a couple months of my life trying to figure it out....maybe even more!

So, what is it?
I was able to stream live on UStream ....with my camera facing my hands and not my face.   Just typing it makes it seem like "what's the big deal"  :)
I've tried webcams on my pc and isight on my mac....but the quality of the webcam was horrible and I couldn't get my isight camera to point over my hands....I tried rigging my laptop but it just didn't work.
I'm so happy I've checked that box....you just have no idea!!  I'm sure my friends are glad they don't have to hear me say I wish I could pay someone to tell me what to do and what to buy.

Now that I've achieved it....not sure what idea will come next...but I love trying new things!

I am alive

I just wanted to say hi :) I'm alive and well but about to go crazy! not really....I'm just kidding :)
On a serious note..... I've been gone so much this summer I'm all mixed up.
Chase & Brooke start school next week and I hope that I can get back to a schedule.

 Would you like a laugh?
Last week I discovered the show Parenthood and that it dealt with a child with Aspergers.  So I became obsessed with watching every episode before season two begins.  I got so hooked that I watched all 13 episodes in four days.  How? .... with Hulu on my laptop.
So, can you see me watching TV in bed on my laptop every night from 11 to 1 or 2am?  Yep, that's me.

On my 2nd night watching it I pulled the laptop up closer to get a better look at something and the top came down and whacked me on the nose....yes I had tears come to my eyes!!  It's still a little sore but I'm okay.
If you have a child with Aspergers or know someone that does.  Watch just one episode of Parenthood and you'll see you're not alone!!  It's a wonderful show and the humor is really good too.

See ya!

I'm headed out to the Stampin' Up! Convention

It's been a while since I posted...I've been crazy busy dealing with all sorts of weird things....for example...last week I scratched Dave's truck, knocked a whole in the garage wall and Brooke's hard drive crashed....all in one day!

Still dealing with trying to get an appointment for Chase.... Feb. 15th is the earliest they had so we're trying to figure out where to go & what to do.

Family of mine...I will create the photo album soon...I know I promised a gallery for family only...it's coming soon!!

I'm leaving in the am for Convention and I hope I maintained my status (my goal for 2010 was to maintain my title at #5 Demo of the Year, #4 in Sales & #1 in Sr. Associate Promotions).  If not ..... I know I worked real hard and did my best!!

Mac Makeup

Today I took Brooke to the mall & all of a sudden it hit me that I remembered watching some smokey eye makeup videos on You Tube.  I don't normally go looking for makeup tutorials....but when someone subscribes to my channel I go to their channel and thank them for subbing.   And that's how I've happened upon Mac make up videos.

Brooke wanted to go to the bookstore and since I have my books on my ipad......I had some time to kill.  I decided to venture past the Mac counter .....as usual I was too shy to ask them....but they stopped me.  They were nice but not pushy I felt welcome immediately.  We started with some foundation and moved onto my eyes.  That's something I've always struggled with because they are so big & blue :)
I was amazed at the difference...I should have taken a before and after but I didn't think it would be such a difference... before I show you the picture ....I had it done at 2pm today and the pictures were taken around 7:45pm....so my makeup is over five hours old.....and I bought groceries, unloaded them in the heat, cooked supper...you get the drill.  If I had done all that in my old makeup....it would be gone by now.

Warning......I look like I have bug eyes but I took this picture so Kim could really see the eye shadow :)

Here's one of my whole face :)  Darn, I wish I had put on some lip liner & lipstick!!

I know I need to pluck my eyebrows...I would have if I'd known I was going to the make up counter!!

Here's all the eye makeup I bought.

So, I'll let you know if I'm able to get the look by myself.  She drew me a diagram and made notes for me.

See ya!

p.s. hey Kim....your turn to provide pictures...facebook is okay...just let me see em!!

Big Brother

Tune in tonight for Big Brother (CBS).  I think this is the one show that Dave rolls his eyes at me when he catches me watching it. I'm not sure why I watch it...but I do and I enjoy it for the most part.

Although I will admit .... if the nasty - mean - rude people are ahead I tend to get very disappointed. I always root for the underdog or the nice people....like last year I was totally for Jeff & Jordan (the cute couple that was the underdogs but came up from behind).

If you were a Jeff & Jordan fan...one of the reasons I like them is they reminded me of myself with Dave.  He's from Indiana & I'm from Tenn (yes .....we love Peaceful World by John Mellencamp ...he sings "up from Indiana down to Tennessee").  Dave's well educated & speaks properly.....not me.  and sometimes I'm really smart and sometimes not very bright. I tell everyone I'm street smart & sometimes I'll add which would you rather I be....you know what I mean?

Gotta run I'm headed to dinner with some friends and then coming home to watch Big Brother on the DVR :)
See ya!

Eclipse

I loved the movie!  Of course there were moments I didn't.  But lets talk about what I liked first :)

Finally ....some kissing scenes...what can I say ....I like them :)
Loved the conversations between Edward & Jacob.
Loved the tent scene!
Thought Bella looked beautiful in this movie!
The Cullens looked liked they had cake on their face again. What is with that?  Can't they see it or do I have xray vision?  Whoever directs Breaking Dawn one & two....  fix their makeup so they don't look like they have on makeup.  New Moon did better with that.  (can't remember who's directing Breaking Dawn?)
Didn't care for the new born stuff...kinda distracted us from the love story.

Overall I'm excited to go back and see it several more times!!
See ya,
