My Bible is the same way.....I also dog ear the pages :O I know some of you are cringing :) I only do it on books that I need to reference later.
Back to my story...so this lady looks over at me and laughs at the title. And then she says it out loud....like it's funny or something. She even repeats it like it's a joke or something.
So then she asks me "are you going to cash in on your passion"... I didn't really know how to respond so I told her I had an online business and I was reaching people all across the country. She wasn't impressed but that's okay .... remember she's the one that approached me. Maybe a real sales person would have jumped in and tried to convince her that stamping or blogging is the best thing since sliced bread. But that's not my style.
I love what I do and I want to share it but not that way :)
The book I'm reading is "Why now is the time to Crush it! Cash in on your Passion.
Let me explain...I read a lot! it's a way to shut my brain down.....other wise it never stops thinking. Most of the books I read are mystery/romance. I love Nora Roberts and Nicholas Sparks....James Patterson.....the list could go on and on.
But I also read things that feed my brain ....you could call it self educating.
So, I ran across this dude on You Tube and he spoke very passionately about his business....he's over the top hyber & loud...and funny too. But what he was saying is Right On!
I've been telling my sister Kim to start a blog for years.....but she just hasn't caught the bug. I've even started a few for her but again...she's not like me. I've kept a journal since I was ten years old and taken pictures all my life....all that is the same as blogging...or to me it is :)
So, this book that I'm reading asks....what are you passionate about? For me...I could list several things! But I called Kim yesterday and she couldn't tell me. I ask her...what's your five most favorite things in your house? She couldn't tell me. So...now I'm on a mission to find Kim :) I love you Kim and you know I only have good intentions. She likes a lot of stuff....but what makes her jump up and down happy?
That's my question for the day? What are you passionate about? Do you have something that brings you incredible joy?
Next subject...I was in a lot of pain last night...so I went to bed early with my laptop. I watched two movies...one made me cry really hard and the other made me laugh. I'm looking forward to Christmas week.....I'm going to watch at least 10 movies and maybe more!! (another thing I'm passionate about .... I love movies...but we'll chat about that later.)

p.s. the movies I watched were "When in Rome" and "A walk in my shoes". (everyone should have to watch "a walk in my shoes"....it was sad but so relevant in our world.)

Hey Girl!! I say "whatever" to that woman. Good luck on your mission with your sister. I feel the same about my Mom. I often wonder what make her jump up and down happy. She too like a lot of things. Because of your post, I just might have to ask her.You know be, stampin, quilting all make me jump up and down happy. Not much jumping going on here. Hopefully next spring our building will be done.
The movies, I have seen them both. Good choices. Have you been watching the Sing off? Kevin and I have been enjoying that one.

Funny thing about authors. I live in NC and my 3 favs also live in in the state. Nicholas Sparks rocks; have you read Safe Haven? Jan Karon is from Chimney Rock writer of the Mitford and now the Father Tim Series and Ann Ross is from my home town Hendersonville retired from UNC Asheville writes the Miss Julia series. Although I also like different types of reading these are my favorites. I was reading the Christmas Jar as I started this year saving and am giving my jar away next week and found the author has another book "The seventeen second Miracle" Another book totally worth the time. It shares how you can have a servants heart and share your time in increments of 17 seconds. That didn't sound right but you might want to give it a read.

Oh Angie...that is a good story. I feel the same way: how can people go through life with no passion? Ask anyone and they say I have the most energy and enthusiasm of anyone...and if I'm really excited..I just want to share! So...you just keep being who you are and doing what you're doing. We all have talents and passions unique to us and need to celebrate that. I just had a meeting with someone whose life is 180 degrees different than mine. She can't understand how I do what I do and I wouldn't trade places with her (she is living in Afghanistan). To each his own and everyone is important in their own way. Plus...I love movies too! And photos! And stamping! (But you lost me on the sewing...I once sewed a button ONTO my own shirt...)

Hi Angie, Hope you feel better soon. I like my craft room and the time I spend in it. I also share this room with my daughter. She plays with her toys while I try to create something and sometimes I will stop and take time out to play Barbies or what ever she is playing with. I love my husband and daughter very much. I like to listen to music alot too. We saw a funny movie this weekend - It was Yogi Bear soooo funny we laughed alot and what I enjoyed the most was the laughter from my daughter. I also like my spare bedroom becuase it has a country style feel and to me that makes me feel relaxed and cozy. My husband is'nt big on country. If I had my way the whole house would be decorated country style. I enjoy the old days and the things the people used way back when. Hopefully you get better before the Holiday. Take care

December was a doozy in my home as well, but we have made our New Year's Resolution a Family Resolution...to better ourselves in order to be better to and for each other. i'm passionate about just BEING passionate because it's missing in this world. like you i'm a huge book worm (LOVE Nora Roberts as well.. have you read her JD Robb novels? they are FANTASTIC), love movies, love crafting, writing, and just being happy. it's not always easy (Ryan, my DH, knows a lot about that..haha!) BUT, it's definitely worth the effort. If people would just start BEING passionate, I think they'd realize that you make your happiness--whatever, however that may be since for everyone of us it's different. My happiness at this moment is to get finished on some crafting I need to post to my blog... well, AFTER I start Season3 of Big Love on the DVR and get some ice cream.. ahaha!!
